Experience
I worked as a math tutor in the WWU Math Department's Math Center for a little over two years as an undergraduate, then started privately tutoring students in a variety of different math subjects. In my second year of grad school I was given a teaching assistantship, so I have taught MATH 112 (Algebra), MATH 114 (Precalc I) and MATH 115 (Precalc II) at WWU. Last summer I taught a four-week precalculus course to a class of Chinese high school students on a summer exchange program to North Seattle College.

Hobbies
I love science fiction (books, movies, etc.) but also reading books in general. It's been a while since I hiked regularly (I was in Boy Scouts all the way to earning Eagle rank) but I do enjoy it. For the past three summers I've volunteered as a cabin counselor at an outdoor science-and-critical-thinking-based summer camp for kids called Camp Quest Northwest, and it has been wonderful every time. I look forward to going there again this summer!
